The board is elected at the General Meeting which is held every other year. The board is comprised of 37 individuals and the boards Chairman who is elected separately. Thus, in total their are 38 representatives of member companies that have access to the Chambers board meetings.
Board meetings are held on the first Monday of every month, except July and August. Various matters concerning the business community are addressed at board meetings in addition to general policy matters of the Chamber. Representatives of every member are eligible for board membership and the multitude of votes is based on the each member membership fee.
The Chamber´s management board lays down its policy and supervises the Chambers operations and offices. Matters that the Chamber addresses are in most cases debated on within the management board, which comprises of the Chairman of the board and six other members of the board which the board elects in its first meeting after the General Meeting.
Ari Fenger is the Chariman of the Board of The Iceland Chamber of Commerce. He was first elected chairman of the board in February 2020 and reelected on the 10th of February 2022. He will hold the position until 2024.
The Board was elected on the 10th of February 2022 and serves for the next two years.
The executive board sets the course for Iceland Chamber of Commerce and overseas it's daily operation. The executive board consist of the chairman of the board among six elected representatives from the board.
The Iceland Chamber of Commerce is a non-governmental organisation based on voluntary participation by companies and individuals. Everyone who engages in business in Iceland is eligible to become a member of the Chamber.
